Keeping in touch with our tour group friends!
As our tour began to wrap up Nicole and I passed around a page where tour members could write their contact information, if they wanted to. Everyone had put their information down and we were able to send group photos, photos we took of them with our camera and keep in touch! One way we can all chat again is through a group Facebook page Nicole and I started. We invited our members through the email addresses they gave us and right now 16 of us keep in touch through that page. It's a lot of fun!
As it turned out, several of our tour members were also from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and not too long after the tour ended, we met up for dinner!
Rick Steve's Alumni Reunion
We have to say, before we went on the tour, we weren't all that interested in attending the alumni reunion. We sorta-thought, why would we want to go see all these random people we met on our tour and travel all the way to Seattle, yada-yada! Well, by the end of the tour, we were going for sure! We wanted to see Cary, Colleen and our awesome friends we met on the tour! We made the trip from Texas to Seattle and a total of eight of us from our tour were there! It was nice to catch up with everyone, we went to some of the travel classes, bought a few things from the Rick Steves' Travel Store, went out and had dinner together……anddddd Nicole talked me into another trip! While it's a tight squeeze for us to do again so soon, I'll be graduating college this Spring and that was just the excuse we needed to justify the expense! Eastern Europe, here we come!
Overall, we want to thank you for following our scrapbook with all of our exclamation points[!!!!!] and pictures up until the end. We love the opportunity to share our first European experience with everyone and hope this helps you decide on your next vacation. This was a life-changing experience for us and we cannot wait to go back! Our view of the world has extended much further than the borders of the United States and we feel that we are much stronger travelers to places we haven't been before, places with different currencies and languages. This way of traveling is far better suited to our style of exploring, "going with the flow" and trying things that are maybe a little bit out of our comfort zone. Perhaps we will see you at the 2014 travel year alumni reunion?! We're going after our next trip!
