...and so it begins!
We have condensed one of the greatest experiences
of our lives into the next few pages for you to enjoy!
14 days of Europe.....comin' right up!!!
...First things first, a little about us!
Our names are Mike and Nicole, we saved up for a couple of years to fulfill our dream to travel to Europe and are very excited to share our experience with you! We started our journey by departing from Dallas International Airport, having not been to Europe before; all of our transportation was flawless!
If you haven't noticed, by the picture of my Wife frolicking through the meadows of Switzerland, we like to have a good time, relax and "go with the flow". One important thing to do is to be flexible when traveling to so many different places. You will find this easy to do when you go on a Rick Steves' tour, the organization of the trip and the guides are the absolute best! We were able to thoroughly enjoy the trip rather than worrying about small hiccups or wasting precious time in Europe not knowing what do to!
We hope you find this page informational, encouraging and perhaps it will be that last bump of motivation you needed to book that trip; you won't regret it!
Throughout this page you'll find many tips and suggestions that Rick mentions in his book incorporated into our trip, along with our experiences with the locals, our own trip suggestions and maybe a few photo suggestions for you other "Shutter-bugs" out there.
Where did we go?
We chose the "Best of Europe Tour: Paris to Rome in 14 days" trip. One determining factor for picking this trip was that we felt this trip would offer us enough time to make the expensive flight worth the money and time. You spend so much time getting to the airport, waiting, flight time, etc that really trying to maximize your time in Europe is worth-while. Also, with the "we will come back" mind-set, we also felt that we would experience enough variety within Europe that we would have an idea what we might want to do again someday; which is exactly what we ended up with!
For those with furry-children as well...
Like many others, we had some loved ones we left behind while we went on our trip. We were able to board our pups, Ranger and Dora, at our friends house...but without a doubt, they didn't miss us for a second!
It wasn't easy going on a trip for so long without them, but making arrangements for your animals with someone you trust is worth every penny! We were able to enjoy our trip a little more knowing they were in good hands!
